What is a Schengen tourist visa?
A short-stay (type C) visa for holidays in the Schengen area, a group of European countries without border checks between them.
Up to 90 days
A short-stay visa covers stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. It doesn't let you work or live there.
EUR 90 visa fee
EUR 90 for adults, EUR 45 for children aged 6 to 11, free under 6 (EU rules since 11 June 2024). Most countries also charge a visa centre fee; each country page lists it.
Apply to your main destination
You apply to the country where you'll spend the most time, or where you enter first if your time is split evenly. We help you work out which one.
What every Egypt application shares
Each country has its own list, but these points come up for almost everyone living in Egypt.
Proof of your trip
Flight and hotel bookings, and travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000 for all Schengen countries.
Proof of your ties
Bank statements, an HR letter or your commercial register and tax card, and usually the family register (Kid Aely).
First trip to Schengen?
Most countries ask first-time applicants for a Mogamma movement certificate showing earlier passports and travel.

Questions
Which country do I apply to?
To the country where you'll spend the most time. If you'll spend the same time in several countries, you apply to the one you enter first. Tell us your plan and we'll help you work it out.
How long does it take?
It depends on when appointments become available and how long the consulate takes to decide.
Under EU rules, consulates usually decide within 15 days of receiving your application, and it can take up to 45 days in some cases. You can apply up to six months before your trip, so start early.
Do you book the appointment?
Yes, in your own name, and our fee covers it. Official fees are paid separately. Some centres keep their service fee if you miss the appointment, or charge it again for a new booking.
Planning a trip to Europe?
Tell us where and when you're going. We'll reply on WhatsApp with what you need.
